About MyElderHome
MyElderHome is a practical guide to aging in place safely at home. We cover mobility aids, bathroom and home safety, big-ticket equipment like walk-in tubs and stair lifts, medical alert systems, caregiving logistics, and what things cost — including what Medicare and the VA do and don't pay for. Our readers are seniors researching for themselves and adult children researching for a parent; every guide is written to be useful to both.
How we work
- Source-first facts. Coverage rules come from Medicare.gov and VA.gov. Product weights, dimensions, and weight capacities come from manufacturers' own published specifications. Prices are dated when we state them. If a fact can't be sourced, we leave it out.
- Guides, not medical advice. MyElderHome does not publish diagnosis, treatment, or condition-management content. We cover products, costs, coverage rules, home logistics, and safety equipment.
- No fake testing or fake experts. Product guides state their selection criteria on the page and are built from manufacturers' specifications — never invented hands-on claims or invented credentials.
- Transparent funding. MyElderHome is supported by advertising and affiliate programs. If a link may earn us a commission, that relationship is disclosed, and it never changes our rankings.
- Photos. Photography on MyElderHome comes from Pexels and Unsplash contributors, used under those sites' free licenses. Photos in product guides are lifestyle images and never depict the specific models reviewed.
Who publishes MyElderHome
MyElderHome is published under its own editorial name — the publication is the byline. We don't use invented expert personas; the standards above are the whole credential, and every article can be checked against the sources it cites.
